We are thrilled to announce our first full-scale one day convention, the Festival of Friendship 2022 in Tadley, Hampshire, UK.
After a smaller scale event in 2019, we are back on March 19th 2022 with an expanded venue, and a much bigger program of events and activities.
We will have a cosplay contest, panels including a fiction writing panel and game, a 'Worst OC' game and a quiz, with more to come. There will be a games room for all the CCG, Role-play and board gamers, and we'll have My Little Karaoke throughout the day.
If you like the sound of that so far, then there's more – we'll have an assortment of vendors to separate you from your hard-earned bits and their spectacular creations. An art corner where you can show of your own skills. And there'll be an on-site cafe serving hot and cold drinks, and a variety of treats.
Sounds good, right? Well, what if I told you there's even more! The evening will be rounded out with a 16+ dance with a fantastic DJ, and we also have an on-site bar.
All of this, topped off with a charity auction for the Rainbow Trust Children's Charity, and last but not least, a special video appearance by Elley Ray!
We hope to see you there! In the meantime, please check out our social media links to keep updated on any news!
OUR 2022 CHARITY - RAINBOW TRUST
What does Rainbow Trust do?
Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity supports families who have a child aged 0-18 years with a life-threatening or terminal illness. There are an estimated 86,625 children in England with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. This number has trebled over the last 17 years and is rising. Thousands of families have to face the very real possibility that their child may die and struggle to cope on a day to day basis. Our Family Support Workers provide a lifeline to these families and children.
How?
When a child has a serious illness, family life is turned upside down and time becomes more precious than ever. Rainbow Trust pairs each family with an expert Family Support Worker who enables them to make the most of time together, giving them practical and emotional support, whenever they need it, for as long as is needed. They support the whole family including parents, carers, the unwell child, brothers, sisters and grandparents. Support is hugely varied and depends on the needs of the family. It can include: listening to a family’s fears and anxieties helping to explain illnesses, diagnoses and treatments keeping a seriously ill child company during hospital stays driving families to medical appointments to help save time and money organising fun activities to help sick children, their brothers and sisters support through bereavement and grief.
